Tours around Bath and the West country:
Cotswolds and Stonehenge:
Bath is blessed with two charming, enlightening and individual small tour companies that take relatively small groups of visitors to some of the most fascinating destinations around Bath.
This is our longest running and most reliable small bus tour. Mad Max plies two 16 seater busses and is the only company to offer an extensive tour of the Cotswalds (beautiful old villages, ancient churches, and green hills with loads of cute sheep). Knowledgeable and friendly Driver/guides.
Their main fame, however, comes from their full day Stonehenge tour, which includes Stonehenge and Avebury Stone Circles, the National Trust village of Lacock, as well as one of the prettiest Village in the Cotswolds - Castle Combe. I would recommend scheduling your tour in advance once you know where you will be staying.
Mad Max Full Day Stonehenge Tour: £25 per person
Daily - Full Day, Departs 8:45 a.m. Tour includes Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock
and Castle Combe, etc. Very small group in good van with knowledgeable driver.
Other passengers will be nice - just like you
Mad Max Half Day Stonehenge Tour: £15 per person

Mad Max Cotswolds Tour: £27.50 per person

Full day tour of many beautiful little villages in the Cotswolds - including Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, Tetbury, Bibury, etc.

Pleasant and friendly hosts on your tour to Stonehenge
Two Half Day Tours: £12.50 (3 hours)
Daily - Departs 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Stonehenge only, but with lively commentary from your driver and guide.
Scarper Glastonbury tour: £22.50 per person Sadly, only available in the summertime. Visits Glastonbury and Wells and departs Wednesdays and Saturdays when available.
In the off season there is no company to take you to the amazing Cathedral at Wells (most beautiful small Cathedral in England) and the fascinating town of Glastonbury (burial place of King Arthur and Guinivere - according to legend, Tor and the ruins of Glastonbury Cathedral). However, there is public transportation (bus) to places like Wells and Glastonbury as well as a train to Salisbury, as these are normal commuting distance towns.
Salisbury also has no tour company to take you, but you can take the train to Salisbury and take a city tour Bus when you step out of the train station. You can have a tour of the city and Cathedral and let them drive you out to Stonehenge and back again.
